Syracuse head coach Dino Babers and SU have agreed to a long-term contract extension which will keep Babers at the helm “for seasons to come,” the school announced in a press release Wednesday night.

The terms of the contract have yet to be disclosed.

The extension comes after Babers led the Orange to a 9-3 season in his third year as head coach, its best mark since 2001. Babers’ first two-seasons as head coach ended in 4-8 records.

“It was a true honor to have accepted the head coach position then and I consider it a privilege today to be able to extend my time coaching at Syracuse University,” Babers said in the press release. “I am grateful to have the support, faith and trust of university leaders, the Orange community, our student-athletes and our fans. I am excited about what the future holds for Syracuse football and look forward to our continued improvement and growth.

Babers and the Orange look to earn their tenth win of the season when the No. 20 Orange take on No. 16 West Virginia in the Camping World Bowl on December 28.
