After a heartbreaking overtime loss to number 12 Stony Brook, Syracuse was in desperate need of a bounce-back win, which is exactly what it got on Saturday. SU picked up a 15-5 road win against Virginia Tech.

The Orange came out of the gates hot. Syracuse outscored Virginia Tech 6-0 in the opening 15 minutes. The great start came from great play in the circle. Syracuse draw-taker Kate Mashewske was fantastic today. The grad student won the first five draws to give the Orange lots of opportunities on offense. Mashewske finished the contest with 11 draw control wins. While the Hokies played much better after the first, it was not even close to enough. Syracuse never trailed or felt threatened. Syracuse outshot Virginia Tech 32-12 throughout the contest. Another big storyline on offense for SU was sharing the wealth. The Orange had seven different goal scorers. Olivia Adamson, Maddy Baxter, and Emma Ward all scored a hat trick. Ward also led the team with six total points.

Overall, this was maybe the best game Syracuse has played all season. The Orange played a high level of Lacrosse for all four quarters. Syracuse stays perfect in A-C-C play and improves to 4-3 on the season. SU has a week break before it welcomes North Carolina to the JMA Wireless Dome. The opening draw is at noon.
